Wai-ora offers a multitude of opportunities for individuals, groups, and businesses to get involved and become part of the Wai-ora Whanau. Opportunities include volunteering in our nursery or conservation teams, community gardens, fruit preserving days, community restoration projects, education programmes and donations – there is something to suit everyone!
Wai-ora offers placement for volunteers across many areas of the organisation. We have regular volunteers who work in the Ecosource Native Plant Nursery who enjoy learning about natives – their propagation and use in restoration. Many individuals come to us with an interest in ecology and conservation and use volunteering as a mean to gain experience or give it a try to see if they would like to pursue and career in these areas. Once or twice a year we undertake a community ecological restoration project, and these create opportunities for involvement at many levels with the benefit of seeing a project from inception to completion and beyond!Apply Now
