Planning Ahead For a Successful Planting Season
Ko te puawaitanga o nga moemoea, me whakamahi.
Dreams become a reality when we take action
At Wai-Ora Nursery, we believe that turning dreams into reality requires proactive planning and timely action. This whakatauki highlights the importance of setting goals and planning ahead to achieve the best outcomes. The same principle applies to your planting projects, whether they involve revegetation or landscaping.
As we approach the end of the 2024 planting season, it’s time to start planning for 2025. We encourage you to consider your needs for the upcoming season and place your orders early. This proactive approach ensures that the plants you require are available in the size and quantity you need, and it helps us better accommodate your preferences.
How to Secure Your Plants by Planning Ahead
Order Early: Don’t wait until the last minute to inform us about your project. Early communication is key to ensuring that the plants you need are available in the desired grade when it’s time to plant.
Deposit Requirements: For indent orders over $5,000, a 20% deposit is required. The minimum order for an indent is 20 units of a single species which is not part of our current production plan. For plants that are part of our current production plan, the minimum order is a total of 100 units.
Pot Sizes: While we strive to accommodate your preferred pot sizes, please be aware that factors such as propagation timing may necessitate adjustments. We will discuss your indent order with you before production begins to ensure alignment.
Contract Growing Services
In addition to our standard plant offerings, Wai-Ora Nursery provides a contract growing service. This is particularly beneficial if you require native or non-native species outside the April-September growing season. For example, if you require 500 Liriope muscari for an upcoming project, we’d love to price it for you.
To streamline your process:
Contact Tiffany Cavanaugh with your detailed plant list, including names, quantities, and preferred grades. Tiffany will provide a competitive quote tailored to your specific needs.
We specialize in Canterbury eco-sourced plants, ensuring that even small-scale projects benefit from locally adapted flora. Tiffany can recommend suitable plants to match your landscape plans, helping preserve the genetic diversity of Canterbury’s flora.
Contract growing is available for a wide range of projects, from small domestic gardens to large commercial landscapes. Typically, our growing agreements involve orders exceeding 1000 plants, and deposits and progress payments may be required based on the nature and scale of your request.
